Is this program for you?

This is for you if...

  • You're an electrician, maintenance tech or engineer who wants to move into controls and automation.
  • You're tired of the overtime, the cap on your income, or what the job is doing to your body.
  • You can commit 5 to 8 hours a week while keeping your current job.

This is not for you if...

  • You're already an automation pro looking for advanced, expert-level tutorials.
  • You can't use a Windows 10 or 11 Pro PC with 16 GB of RAM. Studio 5000 is Windows-only and needs the Pro edition.
  • You're looking to train a whole team. For that, email us at mark@myPLCtraining.com.

Meet Your Instructor

Stephen Gates

Stephen Gates

Stephen spent about 10 years as a controls and automation engineer at a switchgear company in Omaha, Nebraska. That role was mostly PLC programming, day in and day out.

In 2016 he started myPLCtraining to help electricians, techs, and engineers learn PLC programming and move up in controls and automation, so they could work more with their brain and less with their back, without going back to college.

Today myPLCtraining is an IACET accredited training provider. It has helped over 4,000 electricians, techs, and engineers learn PLCs, HMIs, and VFDs, and coached hundreds of students into new roles in controls and automation.

Students we've trained now work at companies like:

Still got questions?

5 to 8 hours a week. Most students finish the core program in 4 to 6 months while working full-time.

No. Most students do this in the evenings and on weekends. Coaching calls are recorded.

A Windows PC running Windows 10 or 11 Pro, with 16 GB of RAM. If you're on Home edition, plan to upgrade before you start.

Because we're IACET accredited, many employers approve the program under tuition reimbursement or continuing education benefits. Ask before your call.

Yes. We'll go over the options on your call if the program is a fit.

A 45-minute conversation about where you are, where you want to go, and whether the program fits. If it's not a fit, we'll tell you and point you to free resources.
